This project involved a full internal refurbishment of a home whose original layout no longer suited modern living. The existing arrangement felt closed off and poorly considered, with the central staircase dominating the floorplan and limiting both flow and natural light throughout the property. Our brief was to resolve these constraints and create a home that felt open, intuitive, and filled with light.
One of the most impactful changes was the relocation of the staircase from the centre of the house to a discreet position behind the garage. This strategic move unlocked the full potential of the ground floor, allowing the main living space to be opened up and rebalanced. The living room was expanded to create a generous, inviting area, while a brand-new contemporary kitchen was repositioned to the front of the property. This layout keeps the kitchen defined while maintaining a natural connection to the living space, resulting in a home that flows effortlessly and functions beautifully for both daily life and entertaining.
All bathrooms were completely refurbished and finished with high-quality fittings from one of our trusted suppliers, adding a cohesive and refined feel throughout the home.
The end result is a light-filled, modern property with a seamless layout that bears little resemblance to its former self, successfully overcoming the challenges of the original design and delivering a home that the client was delighted with.
